One of the most prestigious universities in Northern Cyprus is EMU University, which was founded in 1979 in the city of Famagusta. This university with its faculties and 20,000 students from 106 different countries is at the top level of Europe and is also accredited by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Health of Iran. Eastern Mediterranean University is listed among the top 500 universities in Europe on the prestigious Webometrics website.
This is a semi-public university, and with a large and well-equipped campus, it has turned Famagusta into a student city. There is no need to present a language certificate for entrance or admission to the university (EMU) and candidates can be admitted to the university without presenting this certificate and after registration they must take a language level test. Of course, in case of not getting the required score in the language test, depending on the level of passing score, the candidates can take the language units as a prerequisite along with the course units of their field.
This university has a good variety of disciplines with 100 undergraduate courses, 81 master’s courses and 20 doctoral courses. It should also be noted that the medical faculty of this university was established in 2012-2013 and the demand for pharmacy, medicine and paramedical fields increased, and this has increased the importance of this university. Getting admission from EMU University is possible and simple, and admission to this university is done twice a year in spring and fall for first year students, graduates and transfer students.

Scholarships for International Students

With the help of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Cyprus, various scholarship conditions have been considered for the applicants and students of this university. We offer the necessary advice and cooperation to receive scholarships to the dear applicants
To get a scholarship, GPA, employment records, education, etc. are important. Providing scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students is under the supervision of the “Evaluation Committee” and is awarded to the student according to the following conditions:
1- Having a high diploma average
2- University exam score
According to the committee’s decision, applicants will receive a 25% or 50% discount on university tuition. In addition, two applicants from each country will receive a 100% scholarship.
The scholarship is awarded to the student during the specified standard period:
4 years for undergraduate degree
5 years for undergraduate degree plus one year of English language college studies
2 years for a master’s degree
It should be noted that if the length of the student’s studies exceeds the university standard, the applicant must complete the extra semesters at his own expense.

University Dormitories

With more than 20 dormitory buildings, EMU University offers a very suitable place for students to stay.

These dormitories have one-bed, two-bed, three-bed and VIP rooms, which are divided according to the students’ request.

Also, the dormitories have facilities such as study room, kitchen, computer workshop with free internet, technical room, cafeteria, etc.

Timing of Registration and Start of the Semester

EMU University accepts students twice a year for all degrees (undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate).
– The first admission period starts from April and continues until September. The best time to send documents is from late April to early September. In this case, the student will be accepted to study in the fall semester (September) at EMU University and the class attendance time will be late September.
– The second admission period starts from October and continues until the middle of February. The best time to send documents is from the end of October to the middle of February. In this case, the student will be accepted to study in the spring semester (January) at EMU University, and the class attendance time will be at the end of March.

Assistantship Conditions

– Only graduate and doctoral students after passing the first semester, provided that their grades are at least 3 (out of 4), their ability is approved by the supervisor, and they have acceptable work and academic records, can apply for assistantship. do
– In case of obtaining a part-time assistant professorship, the student will receive a 50% discount on university tuition and at least 550 lira monthly salary.
– In case of obtaining a full-time assistant professorship, the student will receive a 100% discount on university tuition fees and a monthly salary from 900 to 1900 liras (depending on the level of study).
